Psychotherapist Intern
I am a Psychotherapist intern, currently working towards a Masters of Social Work at Boston College. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Gettysburg College, after which I worked at McLean Hospital’s 3East program where I provided care to adolescents with suicidal ideation, self-injurious behavior, Borderline Personality Disorder, eating disorders, substance use, and other comorbidities. At McLean, I was immersed in the practice of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, coaching residents and leading groups that centered around managing strong emotions. In my first year at Boston College, I interned as a counselor at Dexter-Southfield, a pre-k through 12 independent school, where I learned how to engage students in therapy in a manner where it is both a beneficial and enjoyable experience for them.
I have a deep passion for this work and thoroughly enjoy building connections with my clients. I work with people of all ages and genders, although I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults, as I understand the unique transitions and stressors that arise during this time. I strive to create a non-judgmental environment and prioritize using strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches. In sessions I will meet you where you are at and implement therapeutic approaches best suited for your individual needs, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. I bring enthusiasm, warmth, and humor to my sessions in order to create a strong therapeutic relationship that fosters growth and helps clients to achieve their goals.
